The AIC have selected the shortlist of six Irish works to be submitted for 2015 World Music Days, which will take place in Slovenia. The shortlist has been sent to the jury of the International Society for Contemporary Music who will choose one piece to repesent Ireland at the prestigious festival next year. The selected composer will be provided with three nights accommodation in Slovenia to attend the performance and to meet with other selected composers from around the world. The work selected for 2015 Irish shortlist are:

Ryan Molloy - Gealach Chríoch Lochlann - Category 7: String Quartet
John McLachlan - Fata Morgana - Category 8: Wind Quintet
Gerald Power - Montage - Category 14: Chamber Ensemble
Jonathon Nangle - untitled (after Dan Flavin) - Category 15: Intermedia/Installation
The selection panel this year included composers Oliver Hynes, Peter Moran and Martin O'Leary, and clarinettist Paul Roe. The panel were delighted to see such a high standard of submission in what was the AIC's biggest ever response to the annual Call for Scores.
