
Bernadette Marmion was born in Dublin, Ireland. She studied piano with Rhona Marshall and composition with A. J. Potter at the Royal Irish Academy of Music. She graduated in music and French at University College, Dublin, and teaches at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, in the musicianship faculty.
Her output includes songs, piano, chamber and choral works. Her music has been performed in Ireland, England, Wales, Germany and the USA. She has received several composition prizes, including the 1998 Mostly Modern/AIC Composition Prize for her choral work, Psalm 126.
