AIC Member - David Harold Cox

David Harold Cox was born in Portsmouth, England. Between 1964 and 1970 he studied music at the University of Birmingham, where his composition teachers included Gordon Crosse, John Joubert and Peter Dickinson. He lectured at the music department of the University of Sheffield from 1970-1993. Since 1994 he has held his present position as professor of music at University College Cork.

He has written many works for choral, chamber and orchestral combinations. Commissioners have included the Cork International Choral Festival,  the Sheffield Chamber Orchestra and the Arts Council of Great Britain.
