AIC Member - Linda Buckley


Linda Buckley holds a Music Degree from University College Cork and a Masters in Music and Media Technologies from Trinity College Dublin. She is currently completing a PhD in Composition and lecturing in Music at Trinity College Dublin. She has studied composition with John Godfrey, David Harold Cox, Roger Doyle and Donnacha Dennehy.

Her works are for a wide range of forces, including Javanese Gamelan, choir, multi-channel tape, prepared piano and orchestra, and her music has been performed in Italy, the Netherlands, Egypt, Canada and in the USA; by performers such as the Crash Ensemble, the Janus Trio, Orkest de Ereprijs, and Rolf Hind.

She participated in the 2004 Bang on a Can Summer Institute of Music at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. In 2005 she was a prizewinner at the International Young Composers Meeting at Apeldoorn, The Netherlands, where her piece Bobeobi was premiered. This work was performed again as part of the International 2005 Gaudeamus Music Week, Amsterdam.
